Jonathan Lerner – BA, LLB, ASIA, MSust Managment
Founder and Director
Jonathan’s formal background includes strategic consulting, sales, investment banking and law. He has been involved in the growth and strategic diversification of a number of business and not-for-profit groups. Jonathan spent over a decade in the finance industry working with UBS, Macquarie Bank and Grange Securities where he was involved with mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions in a range of industries including sustainable and environmental companies. He is the founder of three profitable businesses in Australia including ENVY.
Jonathan has worked with a number of Australian companies to develop their strategies for growth, sustainability, driving cost savings through corporate social responsibility, creating corporate-community engagement programs and planning events.
Jonathan is also a joint-founder of the Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce, the founder of a young proessionals social networking group and has served as a Board Member, Advisory Board Member and Company Secretary for a number of companies and not-for-profits. For over twenty years, Jonathan has been actively involved with a series of charities, human rights organisations, profit-for-purpose businesses and not-for-profit groups.
Jonathan graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in philosophy, has a law degree from McGill University, is certified by the Canadian Securities Institute, is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and has a Masters of Sustainable Management (with distinction) from the inaugural class at the University of Sydney.
SallyAnn Hunting – MA (Oxon), FCA, MSustMgmt
Principal
SallyAnn has a background in Management Consulting with Andersens and Coopers & Lybrand. Subsequently, she spent over 10 years in senior executive roles in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia with BT Financial Group (now part of Westpac). More recently, SallyAnn has held a senior management positions with The Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability (ARIES) and is currently Director-Sustainability at Urbis, Australia’s premier independent advisory firm focusing on the built, economic and social environments.
SallyAnn’s consulting experience has focused on working with various levels of management to define short and long term business and sustainability strategies and effectively implementing these in the companies she has worked with.
SallyAnn graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in Geography, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and has completed a Masters in Sustainable Management (with distinction) in the inaugural class at the University of Sydney. She co-authored a paper titled “Measuring success in organisations” which reviewed the state of triple bottom line reporting as part of a leadership course completed in 2002. In 2006, SallyAnn co-authored the book “Shifting towards Sustainability: Six insights into successful organisational change for sustainability” where she worked closely with 10 of Australias leading organisations including Amcor, BHP Billion, National Australia Bank, Toyata Australia, Visy Industries and Westpac.
Jeremy “PR” Hyman – BA, MACM
Principal
Jeremy comes from a strategic communications background having worked in the not-for-profit, government and corporate sectors. Over the past 10 years Jeremy has worked for companies such as Blackmores Vitamins, Austroads (peak body of Australia and New Zealand’s roads and transport), The United Kingdom Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Freehills (Australian top-tier law firm). Jeremy has worked in a volunteer capacity for many of Australia’s largest charities and overseen large scale charitable events. Jeremy believes in creating a better world and through ENVY Group is a step closer to fulfilling this dream.
Jeremy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Social and Political Science from Sydney University and a Masters of Communications Management from the University of Technology, Sydney. Subscribing to a philosophy of fun and creativity while creating something worthwhile in all that he does, the ENVY project uniquely encapsulates this through a diverse range of offerings.
Mark Liu
Principal
Mark is an infrastructure architect specialising in current and emerging Internet data frameworks. He advises businesses on production critical infrastructure and operations. With both a hands-on and strategic approach, Mark has helped clients deploy into overseas markets like the US and the UK as well as establishing base of operations here in Australia.
Having a solid technical background for many years, including studying computer engineering at the University of NSW, Mark has designed and implemented many enterprise level solutions such as Australian health information exchange network (THELMA) and custom CRM solutions.
Mark strongly believes in creating results which benefit both the individual as well as the community at large. Becoming part of the ENVY team has allowed Mark to further his goal of merging commerce, particularly e-commerce, with community support. When not working Mark can be found communing with nature at the beach!
Tony Dong
Principal
Tony studied Computer Engineering at the University of New South Wales. His knowledge includes software engineering focusing on web development. He has many years of experience developing dynamic websites including www.SwapAce.com and www.OurWishingWell.com.
Tony’s philosophy is to make things simple and that less is truly more. He believes that the most worthwhile things in life are those that benefit others. The Envy project is a wonderful example of this and is in perfect harmony with his ideals.
Denis Cooke – BSc(Eng), MEngSc, MBA, FIEAust
Senior Consultant, Energy Management
Denis is an electrical engineer who established his own business in 1983, specialising in energy management and strategic studies.
Denis is an accredited energy auditor on the IEAust register. Also he is an accredited auditor for the Greenhouse Challenge programme and an accredited verifier for the Greenhouse Friendly programme.
He was the driving force behind James Hardie Industries Limited’s highly successful group energy management programme. He has consulted widely to Commonwealth and State governments on energy related projects and in recent years on the Greenhouse Challenge programme, Greenhouse Challenge workbooks and Greenhouse Gas Abatement projects.
Prior to establishing his own business he spent eight years with the NSW Public Works Department and was responsible for the wide range of public and leased buildings occupied by the NSW government. In this area he gained a comprehensive understanding of technologies to manage and reduce building energy costs and the practical limitations imposed on tenants in this regard.
He has undertaken a number of building energy studies such as the Sydney Opera House. For some buildings he has designed, specified and overseen construction of energy management projects (to manage and reduce energy costs).
Lindley Edwards – BBus (Accy), BBus (BFIN)(FAIBF)
Co-founder, Business Development
Lindley Edwards is the Managing Director of Venture Group Pty Ltd. The Group undertakes merger, acquisition, divestments, fund raising and licensing for its client base of emergent and growth public and private companies. The work is a combination of investment banking, commercialisation, advisory and consulting services. All work is premised around the concept of turning vision into reality and bringing results by increasing the value of the corporation. The group actively assists and works with the enterprise and the entrepreneur/CEO as well as key stakeholder groups.
Previously Lindley was a State Manager (Vice-President) with Citibank. Prior to this position she spent nine years with Macquarie Bank and was an Associate Director with the Corporate Banking Division. Lindley has also worked on a secondment basis for Boston Consulting Group and for the Victorian State Government Project.
She is an accountant and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance. Lindley holds two undergraduate degrees one in Accounting and the other in Banking and Finance. Lindley is a non-executive Director and Advisory Board member of various organizations.
Lindley has been a state finalist in the Telstra Businesswomen’s awards for Private Sector less than 100 employees. In the year 2000 Lindley was admitted to the Australian Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame. Her publications include:

Chris Harris – BSc (Hons)
Senior Consultant, Corporate Social Responsibility and Community
Chris has worked for more than twenty years in environmental management, consulting and planning. Chris is currently the Executive Director of Earth Share Australia, a non-profit community foundation committed to building partnerships between business and the community sector.
He brings a broad range of experience to the ENVY network, having worked in areas as diverse as park planning, tourism planning and development, water and energy issues, land management, forestry, minerals development, and Aboriginal development. He has experience and extensive contacts in Government, as advisor to a Senator, in the non-Government sector and in private industry.
Chris founded the Mineral Policy Institute in 1995 which is widely recognised as the leading regional specialist organisation working on the human rights and environmental aspects of the minerals industry.
Steven Molino – BSc, BE (Civil) (Hons), MIE Aust, CPEng
Senior Consultant, Sustainability and Project Management
Steven is an environmental engineer with more than 18 years experience in environmental management, auditing and training and is a founding principal of Molino Stewart Pty Ltd, Integrated Sustainable Solutions. He has provided environmental compliance advice, environmental auditing and environmental training in NSW and Victoria to clients such as Unilever, Australian National Industries, CSR, Transgrid, Integral Energy and the Sydney Catchment Authority.
Steven has designed and delivered many environmental training programs ranging from general awareness to workplace procedures. His strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm make environmental management and sustainability clear and relevant to all levels within an organization.
Paul Morris
Senior Consultant, Telecommunications
Paul is a specialist in Telecommunications with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. He is a Director of the Australian Telecommunications Users Groups (ATUG) and previously served as ATUG’s NSW State Secretary. Paul was the Chairman of the ATUG NSW ISDN User’s Forum, Internet User’s Forum and Chairman of the ATUG NSW Technical Issues Forum.
Paul was a foundation member of the Numbering Advisory Committee which advises the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) on issues relating to Australia’s Telephone and Data numbering plans. In addition he represents ATUG on the ACA Emergency Services Advisory Committee.
Paul had a long career with Computer Accounting Services which he joined in 1971 and which in 1981 became Mayne Nickless Computer Services, the leading computer services bureau of the time. Paul was in charge of all telecommunications for the organisation.
In 1988 Paul left Mayne Nickless to join PA Consulting Group as a telecommunications consultant. In 1989, formed Consulcom Pty Limited, a telecommunications consulting firm specialising in telecommunications auditing and cost control.
Paul has very successfully completed telecommunications audits for many large companies including: Ford, Commonwealth Bank, Mayne Nickless and Woolworths.
Robyn Pearson – BEc
Senior Consultant, Waste Management, Auditing and Education
Robyn has over 20 years experience in manufacturing and service industries in Australia and the United Kingdom. She has a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University and is currently completing a Masters of Environmental Management. She is a Board Member of the Buy Recycled Business Alliance.
Robyn spent most of her career working for multinational organisations in the area of Business Development and General Management. She has managed major capital projects and been responsible for the development of strategic business plans on an international level.
Robyn gained her experience in the waste industry working with the waste management division of Brambles Australia (Cleanaway). Here Robyn managed five businesses including the Medical Waste Business and the Ryde Transfer Station. Her final role as Business Developments Manager involved her working with major clients developing waste minimisation strategies.
Since becoming a Director of Waste Audit and Consultancy Services (Aust) Pty Ltd, she has been responsible for numerous waste audits, design and implementation of waste minimisation strategies, developed corporate strategy plans and designed and delivered waste education programs.
Peter Stewart – BE (Chem)
Senior Consultant, Sustainability and Project Management
Peter is one of the two founding principals of Molino Stewart Pty Ltd, Integrated Sustainable Solutions. He has spent over 30 years working in the environmental area. He has considerable experience in environmental impact assessments, project management of multidisciplinary studies, and stakeholder involvement programs.
Peter has worked on a range of public infrastructure and private projects, many of which were in the water, electricity, agricultural and maritime industries. In the early 1990’s, he ran one of the most successful community involvement programs undertaken in Australia to develop land and water management plans for the Murray region of NSW.
